Overview

Smarter Reviews is a Shopify Theme App Extension. It operates entirely within the visitor's browser on the merchant's storefront. We do not operate a server that collects, stores, or processes personal data on behalf of merchants or their customers.

What the app does

When a visitor views a product page where Smarter Reviews is installed, the extension:

• Reads review data already present on the page (from Yotpo, Judge.me, Shopify native reviews, or theme markup).
• Makes API requests directly from the visitor's browser to third-party review providers (e.g. the Yotpo public reviews API) using credentials already embedded in the merchant's storefront.
• Observes client-side signals — referrer URL, device type, scroll depth, and time on page — to select which review quote to display. This data never leaves the visitor's browser.

Data we collect

Smarter Reviews does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data. All logic runs client-side in the visitor's browser. No data is sent to any server operated by Smarter Reviews or boolsai.ai.

Third-party services

If your store uses Yotpo or Judge.me, the extension will make requests directly from the visitor's browser to those providers' public APIs. Those requests are governed by Yotpo's and Judge.me's own privacy policies respectively.

Cookies

Smarter Reviews does not set any cookies.

Merchant data

Smarter Reviews does not request any Shopify API scopes and does not access merchant account data, customer data, or order data via the Shopify Admin API.
